November 5 Bible Reading – Psalm 24:1-6

In times of upheaval and turmoil, especially in the political realm, isn’t it a great comfort to gain this sort of perspective? It was God, not politicians, who created the world. It was God, not human rulers, who created all of us. It was God Who divided the land from the sea, and He continues to be in charge of all the stormy circumstances of our lives, of all the waves of difficulty that threaten to engulf us. And this Almighty God is not motivated by campaign contributions or swayed by poll numbers. No, what impresses Him is those who seek to know and to do His will. He blesses those who take His Word seriously and who seek to live according to it. He is the One Who saves all who trust in Him, not by court decrees or executive orders or legislation, but by the blood of His only-begotten Son. So, no matter what happens at the polls tomorrow, let’s seek the face of our holy and righteous God, the true King of Glory today.

KJV Psalm 24:1-6 The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
